Galapagos prevents the entry of yogurt.




In May 11, 2018 the law which prevents the entry of yogurt in Galapagos will be approved, it will apply after 90 days of its publication. This measure seeks to generate alternatives to the livestock sector, encourage local production, boost the domestic economy and strengthen the agricultural sector of the province.
Galapagos has 7 dairy processing plants which main product is yogurt, it represents the 54% of their production; in total they produce 43371 liters of yogurt every month and only 25708 are marketed in stores, hotels, cruises and households.
Exception: Visitors can carry 3 liters of this beverage.
